The company Martin Tours offers short tours through the historical center of Prague by bus. There are 2 different overview tours. One is one hour long, the other is two hours long. The longer orientation tour includes also Prague Castle, the biggest castle in Europe and the most important sight of the city.
The two tours of Prague are ideal for the beginning of the trip to the Czech capital. You drive around the city in a minibus and pass the important sights of Prague. You sit in the bus and get a headset. Very easily, you can choose from more than 20 languages at any seat in the bus by pressing a button. Through the headphones you then hear the information about the sights.
The whole “Orientation Tour”, as the bus tour through Prague is called in English, is very well done. The announcements in the headphones are always just at the right moment, right when you see the described sight out of the window. The texts are very informative. Our good driver slowly steered the bus through downtown Prague. You pass a lot of attractions during the overview tour. Among them are the Jewish quarter, the world famous Charles Bridge, Wenceslas Square, all the important churches and much more. The introductory tour Prague by bus starts almost directly at the Old Town Square with the Town Hall and the famous Town Hall Clock, so right in the center of the Old Town of Prague. Everything is very well organized. Our Orientation Tour driver was nice, the departure was on time, the atmosphere in the bus was good.
We can only recommend the overview tour of Prague. It is the ideal start for a city trip through Prague, just to get an overview.

1-Hour Orientation Tour Prague
This orientation tour goes through Prague by bus without stopping or getting off during the tour. You will pass the important sights of Prague in the Old Town, New Town and the Lesser Town Prague on the other side of the Vltava River. There are commentaries in the desired language from the headphones (German and 25 other languages). Departures are about 3 times a day in winter, much more frequently in summer.

2-hour Orientation Tour Prague
This bus tour additionally includes the world famous Prague Castle. The castle is above the city center, across the river from the Old Town. The bus on the 2-hour orientation tour goes up to the castle. There you get off and walk through the castle grounds. After about 30 minutes, the bus brings the tour participants back to the starting point of the Orientation Tour at the Old Town Square, also called the Old Town Ring. Departures are about 3 times a day in winter, and much more frequently in summer.
The 2-hour tour costs 20 euros for adults (as of early 2024). You should definitely book in advance on the Internet, as the minibuses do not have many seats. We recommend for Prague beginners this bus tour. It costs only 3 euros more. Very easy to find. On the north side of the large Old Town Square is a large church. To the right of this large St. Nicholas Church begins Paris Street (Pařížská). At the corner of the Old Town Square and Paris Street the minibuses of the two Orientation Tour depart. After the tour you arrive back here.
