The Petrin Tower is a lookout tower on the Petrin Hill in Prague. Visitors to the tower can walk up to the tower or take an elevator. From the top you have a wonderful view of Prague and you can take great photos.

A visit to the Petrínská rozhledna (Petrínská Tower) is free of charge. If you go up on foot it is a bit cheaper than using the lift. At the bottom of the tower is the ticket office, a souvenir shop and a cafe. There is a public toilet in the basement.
The tower was built in 1891. The Eiffel Tower in Paris served as a model, as one quickly recognizes. But there are differences. The Petrin Tower in Prague is about 5 times smaller, it is only 63 meters high. Also the Petrin tower is for example 8-edged, the Eiffel tower 4-edged.
From the viewing platform above you have a wonderful view of Prague and the Vltava. You can also see the surroundings of Prague and, for example, Prague Castle.

Tickets are available behind the entrance at a counter. A normal ticket to the corridor on the tower costs 220 Czech crowns (about 8 euros). Children and other people with discounts pay 150 crowns (slightly more than 6 euros). There are family tickets for the Petrin lookout tower Prague for 440 crowns (about 17 euros).
The prices above are for walking up a spiral staircase. There are 299 steps. If you want to take the elevator to the Petrin Tower, you pay 60 crowns (about 2.40 euros) extra. Children pay 30 crowns extra (about 1,20 Euro).
Opening hours Petrin Tower Prague
In summer the tower is open daily from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. (April to September). In winter, the opening hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. (November to February). In the two transitional months of March and October it is possible to walk up to the Petrin observation tower from 10 am to 8 pm. There is no rest day all year round or similar, the walk or ride with the elevator to the tower is possible every weekday.
