Spanish Synagogue

Posted by

The Spanish Synagogue is one of the 5 synagogues which can be visited with a
combined ticket
in the former Jewish quarter of Prague (Josefov). Visiting the Jewish sights of Prague is very popular among Prague tourists. The Spanish Synagogue is the newest synagogue in Prague (built in 1868). It is situated a little off the beaten track, about 150 to 200 metres east of the other major Jewish sights in the Josefov district of Prague’s Old Town.

Impressive in the building is the Moorish interior, which reminds of the Alhambra in Spain. Hence the name Spanish Synagogue.
